Pretty well finished on this undersea piece. We started this a couple years back with a cover-up on the back with the wrasse, brain coral and sponges. It then moved into a half sleeve with cuttlefish, sea fans and more coral (and a diver hidden around to the inside of the bicep). We then extended down the forearm with giant clam, sea star and more coral with a mantis shrimp across the top of the forearm. Finally adding the chest panel with skull and eel. What the hell is going on?! Most of my life I’ve been a nite owl, usually staying up until 2 or 3 in the morning drawing or painting and then bam! I turned 50 and now I’m excited to be in bed by 10, happily getting up at or before 7 and sitting down and getting to work by 7:30. I have also begun an “art first” approach to my day, trying to take at least the first hour to spend focused on personal projects. This is the current piece, 11x14” watercolor.
